Day's Done

How could a humble gibbon let the madness of everyday life keep him from finding a well deserved rest? Grappling with his guide, trying to understand the turnings of the tides, he ventures on a journey of self discovery to see, just how damaged his restless soul has been.

SINGLE

Nothing Is Better Than

A jingley-jangley, dancey alt-rock track, with an upbeat, pulsing groove that delivers the Unfun brand of silly and serious. Served lyrically as an ode to dreaded days of apathy. Is it cool to not care? Imagine “trying”? What a loser you'd have to be. I propose we be completely uninterested in those who shaped us, surround us and love us... Or the opposite. Does this destroy our authenticity if we don't care? I'm not sure, and I love the hypocrisy of this uncertainty.

About

The Story

Unfun is the project of Jamie Elder, a New Zealander making music in Melbourne, Australia. Born from raw garage and alternative rock, then twisted with a homage to the blues. Think The Black Keys, Queens of the Stone Age, White Stripes and early Kings of Leon. Also drawing flavours from the Melbourne scene, like The Murlocs, Checkpoint, Gut Health and King Gizzard.

This is music that wants you to dance, headbang and cry at the same time (literally all at once, what an image). It's playful and serious in the same breath. (Un)fun enough to make you smile, deep enough to do a feeling.

At its heart, Unfun is about the joy found in the pursuit of crafting sonic waves; it's technical obsession meeting introspective musing. It's simply the sound of someone who loves making music and sharing it.
